My brother Kieran mentioned something to me yesterday that I though was rather prophetic.

He said that 2010 was going to be rather big year for albums.  My album BIG will finally get its release, Chris' new album of duets will also be released... and preproduction on a brand new Murphy brothers album will begin.  I had a songwriting session with Chris the other day, and we wrote a track called 'Take Your Time'.  I think it's got great pop leanings.

We've got a couple of older tracks that we think would be great for the album as well as a couple of separate tracks we won't mind bringing together.  I'm pretty excited about that.  I've even got a ripper idea for the album cover idea.

speaking of which, the album cover for 'Big' looks mint.  It's being finished currently by Debaser, an Eastern states based design company that got my attention for their work on the 'Empire of the Sun' record.  GREAT album cover that is.  So look out for a pretty great album cover kids.

A little less locally, Cake will be releasing a new album this year, after a 5 year break... which I'm probably MOST excited about... but there's a whole swag of new albums this year that are very exciting news indeed.

This is just a sampling of the myriad albums being released in 2010... my list are the ones that I'M excited about.  You should get out there and find some new music this year; don't let the radio tell you what to like.  Find it yourself... it'll mean so much more to you.  I can't wait to be blown away by a few new artists this year.  What an AMAZING year for music... I guess after the lacklustre 2009, 2010 was bound to be huge.
